Void Survivors Upgrades Guide
Every upgrade explained with stats, strategy, and tier list
When you level up in VOID SURVIVORS, you are presented with three random upgrades from a pool of seven. You can select one, and the same upgrade can appear in future level-ups. Effects stack each time you pick the same upgrade. Understanding what each upgrade does and how they work together is the key to building powerful runs.

Offensive Upgrades
⚡ Hypercharge Ammunition
The most straightforward damage upgrade. Each stack multiplies your base damage by 1.25. The damage formula means that stacking this upgrade has compound returns — 3 stacks give +95% total damage, not +75%. This is the backbone of any damage-focused build.
🔥 Rapidfire Relays
Increases your attack speed. Each stack adds 0.2 attacks per second to your base rate. Works well in combination with damage upgrades — more attacks mean more opportunities for critical hits and more consistent DPS.
🌌 Splitfire Array
Each stack makes you fire an additional projectile simultaneously. This is one of the strongest offensive upgrades because it effectively multiplies your DPS by the number of projectiles, and each projectile can independently trigger critical hits. The downside: split projectiles target the same enemy, so there can be overkill on weak targets.
🎯 Precision Calibration
Adds 10% critical hit chance per stack. Critical hits deal 2x damage. With enough stacks (10+), you can reach 100% crit rate for permanent double damage. This upgrade synergizes exceptionally well with Splitfire Array and Rapidfire Relays because more hits per second means more crit opportunities.
Defensive Upgrades
🛡 Nanite Repair Siphon
The best survival upgrade in the game. Each stack provides passive health regeneration. Even one stack noticeably extends your survivability. Two stacks make you effectively immortal through the early and mid game. Highly recommended as a first or second pick in every run.
🚶 Kinetic Thrusters
Increases your movement speed. This upgrade is situational but invaluable against fast enemy types and in late-game scenarios where kiting is essential. Movement speed is a defensive stat because it helps you avoid damage entirely rather than just surviving it.
Utility Upgrades
👁 Optic Array Expansion
Increases the range at which your weapon automatically targets enemies. More range means you engage threats sooner and keep them at a safer distance. This upgrade sits between offensive and defensive — it lets you kill enemies before they reach you, reducing incoming damage.
Best Upgrade Combinations
- Splitfire + Rapidfire + Precision: The ultimate DPS combo. Splitfire gives multiple projectiles, Rapidfire increases the attack rate, and Precision ensures every hit that lands has a high chance to crit.
- Nanite Repair + Optic Array: The survival core. Regeneration keeps you alive while range keeps enemies at a distance. Start every run aiming for at least one of each.
- Hypercharge + Splitfire: Raw damage multiplication. Each Hypercharge stack boosts all projectile damage, so Splitfire benefits doubly.
