Void Survivors Enemy Guide

Know your enemies — stats, behaviors, and how to counter them

VOID SURVIVORS features four enemy types, each with distinct stats and behaviors. All enemy stats scale with wave progression, meaning enemies become tougher, faster, and more dangerous the longer you survive.

Scout (Yellow)

Behavior: Scouts are the fastest enemy type. They rush directly toward you in large numbers, especially in early waves. Their low HP means they die quickly, but their speed makes them dangerous if ignored.

Counter-strategy: Scouts are the reason you should prioritize range upgrades. With enough targeting range, you can kill Scouts before they get close enough to swarm you. Movement speed is also effective — you can outpace them with enough Kinetic Thruster stacks.

Fighter (Red)

Behavior: Fighters are the standard enemy. They have balanced stats — moderate HP, moderate speed. They form the backbone of most waves and appear consistently throughout the game.

Counter-strategy: Fighters require sustained DPS. They do not demand specific counter-measures but their consistent presence means you cannot focus entirely on burst damage. Build enough regen to outlast their sustained pressure.

Elite (Purple)

Behavior: Elites are tanky, slow enemies that start appearing at Wave 3. They have significantly more HP than Scouts or Fighters and deal more damage. Their slow speed makes them less threatening initially, but they accumulate over time.

Counter-strategy: Damage upgrades are essential by Wave 3. If you have focused entirely on survival upgrades, you will struggle to kill Elites before they reach you. At least 1-2 Hypercharge Ammunition or Splitfire Array stacks by Wave 3 is recommended.

Boss (Crimson)

Behavior: Bosses are the deadliest enemy. They have extremely high HP and damage, and they start appearing at Wave 6. Bosses are rare (typically one per wave) but their presence dramatically changes the engagement.

Counter-strategy: Preparation is key. By Wave 6, you should have a balanced build with both damage and survival upgrades. Movement speed (Kinetic Thrusters) is particularly valuable against Bosses because kiting them is the safest approach. Keep moving, maintain distance, and focus fire on the Boss while using AoE to clear surrounding enemies.

Wave Progression and Scaling

Every 45 seconds, a new wave begins. When this happens:

This means that survivability is not just about defeating the current wave — you need to build a loadout that scales effectively into later waves. Upgrades with multiplicative scaling (Hypercharge Ammunition) or that provide exponentially increasing value (Splitfire Array) become more important in the late game.
